ESPERAM-LS consists of two compositions; Esomeprazole and Levosulpiride Capsules which are used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease, often known as acid reflux, and peptic ulcer disease. Levosulpiride is a prokinetic drug that acts by boosting the release of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger. This promotes stomach and intestinal motility and prevents acid from reaching the food pipe. Proton pump inhibitors, such as esomeprazole, are used to treat acid reflux. It works by decreasing the quantity of acid in the stomach, which aids in the treatment of acid reflux and ulcers.

MEDICATION USED FOR 

Esomeprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems ( such as acid reflux, ulcers ). Esomeprazole works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. Esomeprazole symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. Esomeprazole is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions involving excessive Ellison syndrome. Esomeprazole is also used to promote healing of erosion esophagitis ( damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid). Levosulpiride is the Levo-enantiomer of sulpiride a well-known antiemetic, antidyspeptic, and antipsychotic drug. Levosulpiride on dyspeptic symptoms and gastric motor function in a group of patients with functional dyspepsia showing delayed gastric emptying. Levosulpiride is used in the treatment  of Psychosis , particularly negative  symptoms of schizophrenia, anxiety disorders dysthymia, vertigo , dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome , premature ejaculation.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Esomeprazole work from the acid moving leading to symptoms of heartburn a proton pump inhibitor such as Nexium goes into your body and blocks the  pump inhibiting acid being pumped  into the stomach . This lowers the amount of acid in the stomach and helps relieve symptoms of heartburn. Esomeprazole helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent cancer of the esophagus. Levosulpiride is a substituted benzamide antipsychotic, reported to be a selective antagonist of dopamine D2 receptor activity on both central peripheral levels. Levosulpiride and atypical neuroleptic and a prokinetic agent. Levosulpiride is also claimed to have mood-elevating properties. Esomeprazole is used to allow the esophagus to heal and prevent further damage to the esophagus in adults with Esomeprazole is in a class of medication called proton pump inhibitor. Esomeprazole works by decreasing the amount of acid made in the stomach.

Precautions for  Esomeprazole and Levosulpiride Capsules
